I recently had the incredible opportunity to lead my first-ever training session on the CLASSworks program for the teachers at Fairview Children’s Centre. The three-day training, held in July, focused on digital literacy and interactive teaching methods using digital devices. The enthusiasm and readiness of the teachers to embrace new learning strategies were truly inspiring. Their proactive approach demonstrated through their engagement and collaboration during group activities, made the experience even more rewarding.
One of the highlights of the training was the class simulation, where we integrated digital devices into teaching practices. Seeing the students’ eyes light up with excitement and their eagerness for extended lessons was incredibly fulfilling. Their enthusiasm highlighted the power of interactive digital learning tools to significantly enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
The positive feedback from the school director was the icing on the cake. She was so pleased with the training outcomes that she plans to acquire more tablets from DEAN to support the Junior Secondary School’s digital literacy initiatives. Reflecting on this experience, I am thrilled by the impact it had and excited about the transformative power of technology in education. This successful debut with the CLASSworks program has truly fueled my passion for continuing to empower educators and students alike.
